Wedding
guests
arriving early are treated to music played on
the classical flute as a prelude to the
wedding. If you (the bride) are late, the music continues
until you are ready
to walk up the aisle to the sound of the Irish Uilleann Pipes. The Uilleann Pipes awaken the Celtic
Spirit. Made
especially for ceremony and only ever played for weddings,
spiritual occasions and at sacred sites, my Uilleann Pipes have a much sweeter,
gentler tone than any you might have heard before. The Uilleann Pipes
are also played for the
offertory procession. The classical flute is played in appropriate
places during the liturgical part
of the ceremony, the tin whistle at the sign of peace. This
replica of the oldest harp in existence (c. 1370) is played for
reflection after communion. Created especially for ceremony,
meditation and healing, it is crafted
from the 3
sacred trees of Ireland, the harmonic curve is of bog oak, some 5,000
years old, the backboard of bog yew, some 6,000 years old, the pillar
of yew, over 500 years old and the soundbox hollowed
from a solid piece of willow. The headpiece is set with
quartz crystal, lorimar and amber, all of which have spiritual and
healing properties. The strings are of gold,
silver and brass which produce very distinctive bell like
tones. During
the signing of the register the tin whistle, low whistle and
various flutes are individually played and for your walk down the aisle
together, the Uilleann Pipes. The variety of instruments used during different parts of the ceremony, provide a unique musical backdrop to your wedding. I've been playing wedding music for many years and can help you choose some theme music that has a special meaning for both of you. As to the kind of music, air, hymn or song, I've plenty of suggestions. Give me a call, I'd love to help bring that extra draíocht to your day.
